A new BAPM Framework for Practice on Management of Difficult Airway in the Neonate is now open for consultation.
This BAPM Framework for Practice provides a template designed to be adapted locally for use in responding to the difficult neonatal airway in a stepwise fashion, tailored to the resources available locally in any given setting in which neonatal care is provided. The plan generated can then be used in drills and simulation to allow the clinical team on the ground to practice their response to a difficult airway, should they encounter it in practice.
The framework is also accompanied by additional resource materials. The resource materials document is intended primarily for nominated Neonatal Airway Leads to aid discussions around logistics and procurement issues when implementing the framework for practice, but may help anyone who is working with neonates and may be called upon to manage a difficult airway.
We are seeking member views on the draft documents before publishing final versions. To reply to the consultation please complete the feedback form and return to the BAPM Office before the deadline.
