The Infected Blood Inquiry is in the process of gathering evidence to examine the circumstances in which men, women and children treated by the NHS were given infected blood and blood products, in particular since the 1970s.
The Inquiry has identified BAPM as an organisation that may be able to provide relevant information. For example, the Inquiry is interested in the practice that existed in some neonatal units in UK hospitals involving the collection of blood from staff members for use in transfusions provided to babies.
