BAPM is seeking members to join a working group to develop a revised framework for practice on palliative care. The original BAPM Palliative Care framework was published in 2010 and needs to be refreshed in line with current practice and relevant external guidance.
This work is being carried out as part of a cross organisational collaborative to provide updated guidance on palliative care. Members include BAPM, Together for Short Lives, APPM, Bliss, NNA and BMFMS.
About Palliative Care
Perinatal palliative care is the care delivered to babies and their families during antenatal, neonatal and transition periods. It includes care pathways to help deliver supportive care, parallel care, end of life care, post death care and bereavement care. A number of different clinical services and agencies are involved in perinatal palliative care.
Vacancies on the group are:
- 1 Paediatric Consultant
- 1 Trainee
Experience of palliative care work would be an advantage. No previous experience of BAPM working groups is required and applications from BAPM members will be given priority.
The first meeting will be held on 23 June. It is envisaged that this work will take approximately nine months and involve 3-4 virtual meetings although more may be scheduled if needed. All meetings will be virtual.
To apply please complete the application form and return to the BAPM Office by 31 May.
