At this year's BAPM Annual General Meeting, the BAPM Executive Committee (EC) welcomed it's newest members. This followed the EC election earlier this year.

Your newly elected EC members are:

President Elect - Stephen Wardle, Consultant Neonatologist, Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham

Stephen said: "I would like to continue the fantastic work of BAPM developing frameworks for practice, setting standards, web resources, providing educational material and webinars and hosting conferences. Collaborative working with other perinatal, neonatal nursing, neonatal surgical and AHP professional groups is important and would like to build on this and see BAPM build its role advocating for parents and neonatal professionals."

Representative for LNUs and SCUs - David Bartle, Consultant Neonatal Paediatrician, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital

David said: "The vast majority of neonatal care in the UK occurs in an LNU or SCU setting: the voice of all of us who work in these setting is vital. I would be a voice for and support non NIC units in staffing and innovation."

Quality Lead - Chantelle Tomlinson, Consultant Neonatologist, Nottingham University Hospitals

Chantelle said: "The strides in perinatal optimisation in recent years will provide a strong framework from which to build. I am committed to supporting and guiding the Quality team to execute high value, targeted, measurable projects across the four nations."

Networks Representative  - Ajit Kumar Mahaveer, Consultant Neonatologist, St Mary's Hospital, Manchester

Ajit said: "This role presents an opportunity to influence national standards, support high-quality innovative practices, encourage research, and speak out for the needs of babies and their families."

Research Lead - Shalini Ojha, Professor of Neonatal Medicine, Royal Derby Hospital

Shalini said: "Research is the key to improving and advancing clinical care, but patient benefit can only be delivered if researchers, clinicians, and families work together to implement evidence into practice. I believe that BAPM has an important role in leading research and innovation in perinatal care as laid out in its strategy.
