BAPM is seeking a member to chair a working group to develop a Framework for Practice on developmental care for neonatal patients.

The framework will provide an overarching set of principles that will allow trusts to write their local guidelines on developmental care. The chair will work with an MDT working group to agree a remit for the framework based on the latest evidence and best practice examples.

As chair you will act as project manager to develop this piece of work. You will lead group meetings, retain overall editorial control of the document and act as the main point of contact for the BAPM office. You will be expected to ensure that the project continues in a timely manner and that all group members get a chance to contribute and be heard.

Groups generally divide and conquer the work with individuals or small groups writing a section each. It will then be your responsibility to edit these sections into a coherent single document. The BAPM Office can provide administrative and logistical support for meetings and will set up a Microsoft Teams space for the group to allow you to share documents. The BAPM Office will also provide design support and create a version of the document to be circulated for consultation.

For more information on chairing a working group, see here.

It is expected that frameworks and toolkits will take 6-9 months to develop. Please only apply to this role if you will be able to dedicate the appropriate time to this. This is a voluntary role. Please contact the BAPM Office with any questions.

To apply, please complete the application form by 15th December 2024.
