BAPM has set up a multiprofessional working group to develop a framework for practice for ‘Transition from neonatal to paediatric care for babies with long term or complex healthcare needs’.
This is a short google survey exploring the neonatal staff's perspective of transition from Neonatal units to Paediatric inpatient services, including Paediatric Critical Care (Paediatric Intensive Care and High Dependency Care), across the UK. All Neonatal unit members of staff are invited to contribute to this survey which is anonymous. There are separate surveys for those who work on Paediatric critical care units and in other Paediatric services.
The aims of the survey are:
- Identify regions which have formal transition guidance and if present, what they include.
- Understand flow between Neonatal units and Paediatric Intensive Care and High Dependency Care units, and other Paediatric services within regions.
- Obtain a view of staff experience of transition of care; positive aspects, challenges and key areas for improvement.
- The results of this survey will be presented back at the relevant conferences and will also help guide the ‘Transition to Paediatrics’ BPAM Framework.
The QR code to the right will take you to the survey via your phone if you're having trouble opening the Google survey via the link above.
