NeoFOCUS-UK Education team is a subgroup within BAPM NeoFOCUS-UK SIG. The aim of the subgroup is to support the development of a robust and inclusive education programme on the use of neonatal POCUS and hemodynamic, for the benefit of all professionals working in neonatal units (e.g. doctors, ANNP). The work of the subgroup will feed into and be supported by the NeoFOCUS Executive Committee.
The Education team is now seeking members to join projects designed to further expand the activity of the group. Candidates are required to be members of NeoFOCUS-UK specialist interest group (free for all BAPM members).
Group members will take part in regular virtual meetings to plan and run the educational meetings, and will also attend the events where possible to ensure smooth running of the sessions.
The expected programme is likely to include:
- 1-2 in person courses or workshops per year
- virtual Friday education sessions twice a month
- NeoFOCUS-Uk Education subgroup meetings held every 2 months (expected attendance - at least 3 per year)
Roles and Responsibilities
EXPAND THE EDUCATION OFFER:
- organise and manage regular education/CPD meetings of NeoFOCUS-UK
- support organisation and moderation of twice monthly Friday meetings
- develop online modules for teaching and training
SUPPORT WORKSHOPS AND CONFERENCES:
- support the organisation and coordinate national NeoFOCUS-UK workshops and conferences
- support basic and advanced hands-on training during the events
ESTABLISH WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS:
- ensure courses and conferences will maintain high quality standards and continue to receive the support and endorsement from BAPM and RCPCH
- establish a working relationship with national educational boards (e.g RCPCH education board and CSAC) to facilitate the integration of POCUS and haemodynamic training as part of the recognised curriculum for grid and spin neonatal trainees

- 2 Neonatal Consultants
- 2 Neonatal Trainees
- 1 ANNP
Eligibility criteria
Previous experience in Neonatal POCUS or Haemodynamics essential. Previous experience in delivering education, teaching and training essential. Previous experience is organisation of courses and educational events desirable. No previous experience of BAPM working groups is required.
