In-utero transfer
A BAPM Practice Guide on developing an IUT policy.
It is recognised that the right place of birth is important for survival and reduction of neonatal morbidity. In-utero transfers (IUTs) are required when a woman or pregnant person is anticipated to deliver a baby at a gestation which cannot be cared for in their local unit or for other conditions in either mother or baby that require expertise and facilities not available at their local unit.
This document is to guide the development of IUT policies for regions. It outlines the sections that should be contained within your guidance as well as suggested text or principles of what to include.
